Conwy Foodbank move premises to Llandudno!

Conwy Foodbank (CFB) have made the positive move to Llandudno following the expansion of services and the number of parcels being requested on a weekly basis in Conwy Countycfb llan4.

Last month CFB provided over 77 food parcels to local people in crisis, feeding in excess of 50 children by doing so. We currently have 10 volenteers working at the new site assisting Tony, our foodbank coordinator. The volunteers are happy working at the new site which boasts excellent parking and facilities. Local donators are also loving the move as they are now able to better access the store with their kind donations.

conwy food bankTony is now based at the store 5-days a week, another major change to the service, and feedback is suggesting that visitors to the store are really benefitting from the face-to-face communication & contact with Tony.

On the down side, our current funding for the paid coordinators post is coming to an end, and we are urgently looking for long term sustainable funding for this post and initiative. Last weeks North Wales Pioneer outline current funding concerns in the following article however its worth noting that our sponsorship appeal in February and March brought some welcome regular sponsorship for the post which will serve to help keep the coordinator employed for the foreseeable future: Conwy Foodbank’s future is on the line!
