Healthy Eating doesn’t have to be expensive – Cook & Eat @ ARC Rhyl

ARC are proud to promote Cook & Eat on a Wednesday afternoon at 3pm in our Rhyl drop-in as part of an ambition to introduce some vocational workshops into our afternoon sessions.

cook & eat 3Last Wednesday participants from the day centre in Rhyl prepared and cooked fresh gluten free Carrot & Coriander Soup with our in-house catering coordinator, Jayne.

As part of the session, participants were asked to work out costings per portion after they had prepared their dishes to illustrate that healthy eating doesn’t have to be expensive. The participants found that each portion cost just 16 pence to make, and contained a range of vital vitamins and nutrients necessary for a healthy diet with enough carbs to ensure a satisfying meal.
